I have been fascinated with leather items & the process of making them since my early teens. I think it started with my family going to the Smoky Mountains for our summer vacations. Back in the 70's there were several leather shops in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area. It was a time when the the person working at or running the shop made his own goods and products. That meant each shop had it's own character. Something about that atmosphere captured my imagination and has influenced my life ever since.

I believe I was reading an outdoor magazine when I saw a Tandy Leather ad for a belt kit. I ordered the kit and have been involved with learning and making leather items since. Look at the picture below to see that very first belt I made (I can't believe I still have it).

You might say I live a double life, other than making leather belts I have also been a professional drummer since my late teens. I still play in and around Nashville weekly. I have traveled and played all over the United States in my years of being a drummer. I have played with people you know and some you don't. I still enjoy playing drums very much. I think my music experience gives me a unique
perspective of my leather work as well. Here's my myspace page if you want to check this side of me out.

I'm originally from southern Ohio where my parents, younger brother and older sister still reside. I currently live just outside of Nashville,TN where I do my best to keep up with the weekly work involved from selling online and at shows. I hope we can do business together.
